How To Use Your Business Card For Maximum Profit
The rule of thumb with giving away business cards is you can’t give them away when they’re not available. So keep a stack of cards everywhere you might need them: your car, jacket pockets, briefcase, purse or wallet, home office, and anywhere else you often frequent. Remember that the goal of giving away your business card is NOT just to provide your information. Your goal is to have a life-long customer, who refers tons of business your direction!

CREATIVE WAYS TO GIVE THEM AWAY
Attach a business card to an ad specialty. EX: Give business card holders as a thank you gift and place your business card in as the first one.

1. Place them into the product you sell before delivery.
2. Send a business in every piece of correspondence at it applies: letters, invoices, bills, etc.
3. Place them in the library books related to your business.
4. Ask neighborhood businesses if you may display your cards near their registers.
5. Tack them to bulletin boards at supermarkets, restaurants, retail stores, etc.
6. Wear it as a nametag when you visit customers and suppliers if appropriate.
7. Use it as a name tag on your briefcase. Make sure your company logo and tagline are visible.
8. Scan your card and use it as an attachment to emails.
9. Ask your spouse, family, and friends to carry some of your cards with them in case they meet someone who might be interested in your product or service.
10. DEFINITE MOMENTS NOT TO GIVE THEM AWAY
Don’t give them to a member of the opposite sex in hopes s/he will call you.
11. Don’t give them away without being asked otherwise it will end up in the “round file.” Wait until they either they give you theirs first, or they ask you what you do. You could also ask for theirs first, which usually prompts them to ask for yours. When we give unasked we announce: “I want you to buy from me.” Time your distribution at the first sign of interest either with your product, services, work, or business card. Otherwise, they will NEVER call!
12. Don’t give your card in situations when many people are giving them to your prospect. Wait for a moment when you can capture your prospect’s attention span.
13. Don’t give away cards to an entire room or during meals.
14. Don’t give away cards until you’ve established rapport.
15. STRATEGIC WAYS ON HOW TO GIVE THEM AWAY
Give two cards at once with the simple explanation. “I’m giving you a couple of cards. You may know someone who can use ___________ (share with them your benefit).” Now you have the recipient thinking about making an extra step.
16. Give them away with both hands reminding them to KEEP or GIVE them to someone else. The psychological significance is very impacting. It gives a high perceived value with your business card.
17. Handwrite your “other” phone line in the back of your card before handing out and tell your prospect that you’re giving them a direct number. This will give a perceived value with your card.
18. Always give them face up so that they could see your company image.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GIVE THEM OUT
1. Make it a goal to give 6-8 business cards away daily. This means that you would have had 6-8 conversations with new potential clients daily and share with them how your company could provide a solution to their lives. Your business card then becomes the link and reminder for them to do business with your company.
2. Give them out at any context as long as the recipient has shown interest with your product and services.

Guide to Getting Great Business Cards
Your best advertising tool is one of the smallest investments
By Jenni Simcoe

A business card is your lifeline to customers and one of the most basic – and useful – marketing tools on the planet. It really can play a big role in helping you gain, or lose the interest of a potential customer. Your card represents you when you are no longer there, or many even be the “face” of you and your business to people who’ve never met you. You need a well-designed card that conveys the proper image and information about your business. And it has to be concise. An effective card can:
1. Serve as a silent salesperson. Long after the customer has received it, the card is a reminder of a product or service.
2. Provide superior customer service to clients. A properly executed card saves the customer time by putting them directly in touch with the right person.
3. Communicate a message to customers about your business.
4. Create repeat customers since they have a reminder in their card file of your business.
5. Be a word-of-mouth marketing tool if you ask every customer to pass on your card to friends and colleagues.

Business Card Essentials
- Business card printing services now have easy tools to design and print business cards online.
- Customizable templates can be found, but be sure to modify them enough to avoid a cookie cutter look.
- Don't overdesign. Too many stylish elements can add up to an ugly mish-mash
